Former India bowler S.Sreesanth seemingly sent a unique birthday wish for the former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The ex-India wicketkeeper celebrated his 42nd birthday on July 7, Friday, and while his former teammates and million fans took to social media to wish him, Sreesanth’s wish came two days later. Former India bowler, who was a part of the 2011 World Cup winning squad, posted a throwback video from the 2009 edition of the Indian Premier League when he was a part of the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). The video is from one of the games between his side and Chennai Super Kings, where the former bowler dismissed Dhoni as his delivery hit the stumps directly and the Yellow Army skipper had to walk back.

Needless to say, the dismissal was a special one for Sreesanth as Captain Cool was forced to return to the pavilion after scoring merely two runs. Dhoni’s career reached an unimaginable height since then, and he went on to become one of the most celebrated cricketers. The Jharkhand-born cricketer became the first Indian captain to win all three ICC trophies.
Meanwhile, Sreesanth’s career was full of controversies, and the former pacer was involved in match-fixing scandal in 2015. However, the Kerala High Court quashed his life-long ban in 2018, followed by a division bench restoring the ban. Meanwhile, his ban was later reduced to seven years, which ended in 2020. The Kerala-born cricketer brought down the curtains on his career and announced his retirement from Indian cricket in March 2022.
