BoxPark founder and CEO Roger Wade commented on the incident by stating that customer safety is the top priority but backed the former heavyweight champion by claiming that he is one of the nicest people. "Julius Francis is ex UK heavyweight boxing champion, he is one of the nicest people I have ever met and helps train young underprivileged kids boxing in his spare time," Wade said.

BoxPop founder further added saying that he has learnt that Julius and his security team spent 15 minutes stopping the man and his friends from abusing, spitting and hitting the customers and staff. "They carefully escorted him from the premises under constant provocation and violence. Finally, the person approached Julius in a confrontational manner and he defended himself," he added.

Francis had a record of 23 wins during his boxing career, a draw and 24 losses. He competed against some of the biggest names that not only included Mike Tyson but also included Audley Harrison, Vitali Klitschko and John Ruiz to name a few. However, the 57-year-old had stated in a previous interview that none of his opponents were as good as Mike Tyson. In an interview with Daily Mail in 2020, Francis recalled how he hit Tyson with some of his best shots but Mike Tyson was good enough to tackle him.
