The second match of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League is underway. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are battling it out at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai in their tournament opener. The five-time champions, after being put in to bat first, put on an impressive batting performance and posted 177 for the loss of four wickets.

Ishan Kishan was the hero for them with his blistering knock of 81* off 48 balls. IPL 2022's most expensive buy proved his worth as he smashed the Delhi bowlers all over the park to accumulate some crucial runs for his team. But in the process, he also injured himself. While batting at the fag end of the innings, Kishan missed putting bat to a yorker which eventually hit him on his toes.

The wicketkeeper batter looked in pain but continued with his impressive batting. However, he could not take the field in the second innings as he was sent for scans. Ayan Juyal replaced the southpaw behind the wickets.
