While Ja Morant recently won the Most Improved Player, his performance in the outing against Minnesota Timberwolves might lead many to question why he isn't in consideration for the Most Valuable Player.
Although it was evident right from when he made his debut that Morant was a special talent, with his "dunks" being among the most beautiful in the history of the league, he produced one for the ages during the Memphis Grizzlies vs the Minnesota Timberwolves.
As if it wasn't enough, he later nailed a brilliant winner with 1 second to go to seal a 111-109 victory in favour of the Memphis Grizzlies. Morant had positioned himself brilliantly for the pass, and only needed a couple of timely strides before finishing the match for the victory.

The Grizzlies star ultimately finished with 30 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists.
Earlier, Morant becoming the first Memphis Grizzlies star to become the Most Improved Player had sparked a debate. Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, for instance, believes his teammate Jordan Poole should have been given the award.
"The award is called the most improved," Green said.
"Not who had the best year. That's the MVP. A lot of times we get it confused. No disrespect to Ja Morant, but Ja is an MVP candidate. Ja Morant isn't the Most Improved Player. He was f--king incredible last year. When you look around, the most improvement has been Jordan Poole and that goes without saying. He is the most improved," he added.
