While Indian cricket has a plethora of quality batters at its service, getting out-and-out fast bowlers under the ranks has been an issue. However, the emergence of Umran Malik has given a ray of hope for many as the young pacer from Jammu and Kashmir can consistently bowl at the sheer pace of 150 kmph.
While Malik is only taking initial strides in his career, he has already been given a taste of international cricket where he did manage to scare off a few batters with pace but leaked runs a bit too many for the captain's liking. Even as he tries to improve his line and length, yet another pace sensation from the same region of India has caught the eye of cricket fans.
The speedster named Waseem Bashir, it is being claimed, can bowl at 150kmph on a consistent basis. A video featuring some of his deliveries has gone viral on the internet.
The 22-year-old right-hand pacer is currently part of the Jammu and Kashmir U-25 team and is scaring batters with his raw pace. According to reports, Basheer trains under the able guidance of former Indian pacer Irfan Pathan.
Ever since Basheer's video was shared on Twitter it has gone viral since then and a lot of cricket fans are urging IPL franchises to take note of the pacer and give him a chance in the upcoming season.

Reports have suggested that Waseem Basheer was called for the IPL trials by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2021, and since then gained a lot of popularity in the region. In one of the reports published in Odisha TV, Basheer was quoted saying that he wants to represent the Indian national team and play in the Indian Premier League. “It is a dream of every cricketer to play in IPL and International cricket, and this is what I am aiming for,” he added.
