Holder web hat-trick

Serena Williams had once said, "You have to believe in yourself when no one else does". The West Indies cricket team put on a perfect exhibition for the same. As Pollard said in the post-match presentation, everyone was counting West Indies out in the T20I series against England. But they believed in themselves and turned it around at the Kensington Oval in the final T20I. And who was the man of the moment? It was none other than the local boy Jason Holder.

The Barbados lad, playing at his home ground made it memorable for himself with a T20I hat-trick. Well, it was not just one but two for Holder as he got another batsman on the fourth delivery as well. Holder was given the responsibility to bowl the final over of England innings with 20 runs required off it. Holder did not start well and overstepped on the first delivery resulting in an extra run. But in the next five balls, Holder gave away nothing to the batters and took away everything available.

On the second delivery (technically the first), he managed to keep Jordan silent. He backed it up with a nice full toss cramping Jordan who wanted to hit it for a six but ended up giving a catch to Hayden Walsh. The next delivery saw Billings repeating the same mistake as Jordan and losing his wicket. On the fourth ball, Adil Rashid tried to take on the short ball from Holder but failed and ended up slicing it into deep midwicket fielder's hand giving Holder a hattrick. But it was not over yet as Holder got another batsman, Saqib Mahmood on the next delivery making it 4 in 4 for Holder.

With his heroics at his home ground, Jason Holder joined an elite list of bowlers who have taken 4 wickets in 4 balls in T20Is. He has joined Lasith Malinga, Rashid Khan, and Ireland's Curtis Campher. While Malinga took his double hattrick against New Zealand, Rashid Khan registered the historic feat against Ireland. Meanwhile, Ireland's Curtis Campher recently joined the list when he took 4 wickets in 4 balls against the Netherlands in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
