Conceding 35 runs in an over is not a big deal these days. Considering the pace at which T20 cricket is played, it seems normal. But what happened to Stuart Broad in England vs India Fifth Test was not normal at all. Broad conceded 35 runs in an over of a Test match. To make matters worse for the bowler, it was a No.10 batter batting at the other end.
The over started with Bumrah top-edging a short ball that slipped out of Zak Crawley’s hands and raced to the boundary. On the second ball of the over (which was also a no-ball), Broad went for another short delivery with more gas but to only see the ball flying over the fine-leg boundary off Bumrah’s top-edge. Broad tried to correct himself but bowled a juicy full toss that was easily dispatched to the long-on boundary by Bumrah.
The flurry of boundaries continued as the Indian batter got another one on the next delivery. Bumrah played a Rishabh Pant-Esque shot to earn four more runs. On the next delivery, an inside edge raced to the fine-leg boundary. The final nail in the coffin was a maximum from Bumrah. Notably, with 35 runs in one over, Broad now holds the record of bowling the most expensive over in Test cricket.

This 35-run over from Stuart Broad brought some flashbacks to the fans. It felt like it was Yuvraj Singh from the 2007 T20 World Cup at the other end. Sachin Tendulkar also felt the same way as he tweeted "Kya yeh Yuvi hai ya Bumrah!? 2007 ki yaad dilaa di".
Notably, Yuvraj Singh had hit consecutive sixes against Stuart Broad in the league match between India and England at the 2007 T20 World Cup.
