Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Jofra Archer has looked in magnificent touch against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game being played at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. Bowling first after winning the toss, the visitors invited GT to bat first. Opening bowling for RR, Archer exuded confidence and took the hosts’ captain Shubman Gill’s wicket in the third over of the contest. The speedster bowled a 147.7 km/h delivery which stunned the right-handed opener. Following the dismissal, Gill looked disappointed while walking back to the dugout as the youngster could contribute only two runs to his team.

After Archer’s onslaught, GT recovered as Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler held their nerves to stabilise their team’s innings. Both stood at the crease and built an 80-run stand off just 47 balls. Buttler fell against Maheesh Theekshana on the last ball of the 10th over. Sudharsan, who has been in excellent touch with his bat in this tournament, continued his dominance against bowlers and racked up his third fifty of the competition.

Archer’s terrific comeback impresses social media users

Archer, who bowled the costliest IPL spell for RR against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 23, has made an incredible comeback in the competition. Against Punjab Kings (PBKS), he spearheaded his team’s bowling attack and took 3/25 figures to guide his Pink Army to a 50-run win.

In this game, he looked disciplined with the ball again. His magnificent ball against Gill has earned him praise from social media users. Noting Archer’s attacking delivery, a user named Madhav took to X and wrote, “Ball of the Tournament. Speed, swing and perfect length. Even a batsman of Shubman Gill’s class got stunned! Take a bow, Jofra Archer. #GTvsRR.” Meanwhile, several other users also reacted on Archer's unplayable delivery.
