On Friday, May 9, during the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, emanating from Nutter Center in Dayton, Randy Orton tricked WWE Champion John Cena into hitting yet another RKO before their highly anticipated title match at Backlash PLE tomorrow night. After John Cena delivered a scathing promo about the challenger, a masked man looking like Randy Orton slid inside the ring before taking an Attitude Adjustment (AA), but just before the WWE Champion could have realised the situation, he was at the receiving end of an RKO once again.
Following his arrival in the middle of the ring at the Nutter Center, John Cena took no time in telling the fans that their childhood dies after the championship bout between him and Randy Orton at Backlash PLE. Cena informed everyone that Orton took his advice to stay away from Dayton for SmackDown and prepare for the biggest moment of his career in St. Louis tomorrow night while being with his family and friends.
John Cena proceeded to berate Randy Orton by saying that he is a liar before explaining it to the fans in terms of his catchphrase “Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect”. Ultimately, he categorically said that Randy Orton will kill the legend of Randy Orton at Backlash PLE, becoming a failure in the process just like his 2006 drug test before calling himself the last real champion of the WWE.
John Cena will defend WWE Championship at Backlash PLE against Randy Orton this Saturday
As John Cena held aloft his WWE Championship title, a masked man entered the ring and attempted an RKO, but he got an AA for his troubles. It led to Cena soaking in the moment, shouting words at the camera without realising that Randy Orton had entered the ring, mocking him with the five-knuckle shuffle before hitting him with an RKO three times since WrestleMania 41.
The WWE Championship match between John Cena and Randy Orton at Backlash PLE is officially billed as the “Last Time Ever” bout between two of the greatest superstars in the promotion.
