During the latest episode of WWE Smackdown from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, R-Truth confronted Randy Orton in the backstage area, telling him to his face that John Cena will beat him in the championship match at Backlash PLE in just eight days’ time. Notably, John Cena, who became the record-breaking 17th time WWE Champion, is set to defend his championship against Randy Orton in the latter’s hometown of St. Louis.
In the last couple of in-ring segments between John Cena and Randy Orton, the WWE Champion was put to sleep with the RKO finishing move by the first challenger to his championship run. With John Cena not showing up at WWE SmackDown this week, Randy Orton took the mantle to promote their “Last Time Ever” clash for the championship at the Backlash PLE.
Before his confrontation with R-Truth backstage, Randy Orton reminded the fans that while John Cena claims to be the last real champion, he isn’t, and now, he is going to be the latest legend that gets put down by the “Legend Killer”. Orton also stated that he will punt kick Cena so hard that his “lego shaped head” will end up flying right off his shoulders and through the gateway arch but after hitting him with an RKO once again.
My childhood hero John Cena is going to beat Randy Orton: R-Truth
Shortly after getting done with an in-ring segment, Randy Orton was walking backstage when R-Truth got into his face before saying that he has got no chance against John Cena, and the WWE Champion will beat him in their match at WWE Backlash. It made Randy Orton a bit angry towards R-Truth before Jimmy Uso showed up to diffuse the situation, which led to the Legend Killer walking away.
When R-Truth stayed adamant about his statement, Jimmy Uso told him that Randy Orton will punch his head off his shoulders if he isn’t going to stop in his tracks.
