After the England bowlers James Anderson and Shoaib Bashir took the final two wickets, it was the visitor’s turn to take the guards in the middle. While the England openers in Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley departed early in the innings, Ollie Pope and Jonny Bairstow headed back to the pavilion before lunch on Day 3.
Just at the stroke of lunch, Bairstow, who is featuring in his 100th Test, was involved in a heated chat with Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan in the middle. As he took charge in the middle in the 18th over of the fifth Test, he was seen calling out Gill and asking what he said to James Anderson as Sarfaraz Khan also joined in.
“What did you say to Jimmy about getting tired and he got you out after that?” Bairstow was heard saying on Day 3 of the fifth Test. Responding to this, Shubman Gill was quick to say, “So what, it was after 100.” The Indian batter did not stop here as he further put up a question to Bairstow, stating “How many have you got here?”
However, Bairstow did not opt to answer this question and rather put it to Gill adding, “How many have you got?” This viral conversation is now doing rounds on social media.
Sarfaraz Khan also joins the war of words; goes viral
The young Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan also joined in as he was heard telling Jonny Bairstow, “Abe thoda sa run kya bana liya series me, zyada uchhal raha hai”.

The Indian leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav in the same over cleaned up the England batter lbw. However, Bairstow went for a DRS with the umpire raising his finger to send the batter after having scored 39 off 31 deliveries.
Speaking of the match which seems to be in full control of the hosts, at the end of 23 overs, the England scorecard read 103/5 with Ben Foakes (0) and Joe Root (34) in the middle.
