Among the players, fans were looking forward to playing in IPL 2022 was England's, Jonny Bairstow. The wicketkeeper-batter is a great utility player in white-ball cricket and with Punjab Kings acquiring his services at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, there was a lot of anticipation ahead of a new association.
While Bairstow wasn't available for selection for the franchise's first few games when he finally made his debut in the fourth match, the 32-year-old could not make an impact and departed for a run-a-ball 8. In fact, he was removed by Lockie Ferguson in an over which had already gone for a couple of boundaries that were hit by his partner Shikhar Dhawan.
Yet Bairstow tried to go for the ramp shot and perished as he picked the short third man where Rahul Tewatia grabbed a great catch.
