The Delhi Capitals (DC) are taking on the Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 18 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in match number 60 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The encounter is a crucial one in the playoffs race given the position of both the teams in the points table. After being put to bat first, DC have managed to put up 199 on the scoreboard, thanks to a brilliant century from KL Rahul.

KL Rahul has almost single-handedly propelled DC to such a big score with his fabulous knock. Being there from ball one till the very end, Rahul managed to score 112* (65) including 14 fours and 4 sixes. Rahul paced his innings beautifully, starting slow and then picking up to the momentum of the game. He stood firmly on one end of the pitch even when DC lost a couple of wickets in the middle overs and helped his team reach a good score.

DC bowlers face huge task to contain GT’s dangerous batting unit

Rahul stitched a 90-run partnership with Abishek Porel for the second wicket before putting up another 45 and 48* run partnerships with skipper Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs respectively. A late surge from Stubbs and Rahul helped DC put behind their slow start and almost reach the 200 mark. This total will now allow DC’s bowlers to get a hold of the game and try securing a crucial win.

GT’s bowling attack was particularly ineffective in the game, with the DC batters exploiting the slow surface and short boundaries to their advantage. The spinners coming into the attack later on, posed some problems to DC but they were able to thwart off those as well. Sai Kishore was particularly expensive today, giving away 47 runs in his four overs, picking up just one wicket.
