The match 32 of IPL 2021 kicked off with some fireworks in Dubai with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Evin Lewis getting Rajasthan Royals off to a brilliant start. The left-handed duo, who have a very similar style of batting, went absolutely berserk against the Punjab bowlers in powerplay. As runs continue to flow, the pressure was mounting on the opposition and PBKS skipper KL Rahul was certainly getting a bit worried.
After Arshdeep Singh dismissed Evin Lewis, Punjab heaved a huge sigh of relief. However, they could not afford to breathe easily as RR captain walked out to bat. Sanju Samson had smashed a century in the previous meeting between the two sides and Punjab needed to dismiss him early to get back into the contest. This is when PBKS captain got debutant Ishan Porel back into the attack and the move turned to be a masterstroke.
Ishan Porel gets his maiden IPL wicket
The right-arm pacer started the over with a wide delivery, short of the length outside the off-stump. Sanju Samson tried to capitalize and reached out to play an attempted cut. However, he was in no position to play the shot as he found a thick edge. It looked like that the ball would sail over the keeper KL Rahul and Samson would get away with it. But PBKS skipper had other plans!
The 29-year-old flew in the air and stuck out his right hand in an attempt to take the catch. Rahul timed his jump to perfection and completed a stunning catch to send his counterpart back to the pavilion. Samson was dismissed on 4 as Punjab got back into the contest.
