Manchester City defender Kyle Walker engaged in a fight with Fluminense's Felipe Melo after the FIFA Club World Cup final. The final clash on Friday saw Pep Guardiola's side registering a comfortable 4-0 win over their counterparts in Saudi Arabia. The win marked their fifth victory of the year after having won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and Super Cup. While it was a happy occasion for the team, the England footballer still found himself in a furious altercation with Melo after the match.

The reason behind the tussle remains unknown but Walker and Melo came to blows and were seen shoving each other. After the game, Melo could be seen approaching Walker, who was walking ahead of his teammates after the full-time whistle. Jack Grealish stepped in and tried to pull away his teammate away from the incident.

The situation, however, soon got in control as celebrations continued for City as they secured their fifth trophy of the year. After the match, Melo said, “I've already seen on social media idiots saying that I started a mess. In the game against Gremio, I calmly went to ask the athlete celebrating with their fans. And they ended up creating a mess. And I didn't want a mess. Today Grealish was disrespectful towards the Fluminense institution and I will never let that happen.  He was shouting ole at the end of the game. This is for the fans, the fans can shout ole. The athlete on the field cannot be disrespectful towards the institution.”

He added, “So, for the idiots who call themselves journalists and have already said that I started trouble, I didn't start any confusion, on the contrary, I went to defend Martinelli, who was being cornered by this athlete. And I would do it again. I am a warrior.” However, Grealish was quick to defend his actions and responded by tweeting, “Not once did I say ole.”

As for the game itself, City opened their scoring within the first minute as Alvarez netted home. Alvarez’s goal came in 40 seconds of the game, which was recorded as the fastest goal in Club World Cup final history.
