A couple of days after Lionel Messi played his last game for the French champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes, the record seven-time Ballon d'Or winner's father, Jorge Messi appeared to meet the Barcelona President, Joan Laporta in a video doing rounds on social media.

The meeting between Jorge Messi, who is also the Argentine legend's agent, and Laporta on Monday was reportedly held to discuss the 2022 World Cup winner's future after his exit from PSG. Lionel Messi's contract with the Ligue 1 side will finish at the end of the season as the Argentine didn't sign a contract extension.

Popular sports analyst, Toni Juanmartí took to his Twitter handle and posted a video, where Messi's father can be spotted with Joan Laporta. The analyst quoted Messi's father saying, " Leo wants to return to Barça and I would love for him to come back. It is an option. "

Reportedly, Barcelona were unable to sign Messi due to their financial complications, however,  La Liga had finally accepted the Catalan Giants' "feasibility plan" for the summer, allowing them to sign new players.

While Messi's exit from PSG has already been confirmed during the French champions' final league clash against Clermont Foot at home on Saturday night, which they lost 3-2, the 35-year-old's next club is yet to be decided amid interests from Saudi Arabia, the USA, and Spain. Apart from Barcelona, the Saudi Arabia club Al-Hilal, who are rivals of Cristiano Ronaldo-led Al-Nassr, have made a lucrative offer to sign Messi followed by the Major League Soccer side Inter Miami, owned by David Beckham.
