Football legend Lionel Messi has finished his career in Europe as the FIFA World Cup-winning Argentina captain has joined the Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami, which is owned by English legend David Beckham. Ahead of his MLS debut, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has made his acting debut in the popular Argentine TV series, Los Protectores, and fans are overwhelmed by his acting skills.

After inspiring fans across the globe with his spectacular football skills and intelligent gameplay, Leo Messi has stepped into the acting world with his debut in Los Protectores, which revolves around "three soccer representatives who are almost bankrupt and decide to ally when a soccer star appears."

The popular Argentine TV show, which is broadcast exclusively on Star+, premiered on March 9, 2022, while its second season was released on Sunday, June 25, 2023. In the first episode of season two,  the trio visits Lionel Messi in Paris and proposed to work on a project that aims to support youth players. While Messi relished the initial idea, he got furious with one of the representatives' business plans.

The movie synopsis read, "The story focuses on three soccer representatives who are in decline, since they are in a difficult economic situation and must manage to get out of bankruptcy, thus forming an alliance between the three, however, an international soccer star will appear and they will begin to fight for him until they decide to make a temporary union: a job as protectors."

As soon as the episode featuring Messi launched, fans flooded social media to appreciate the Argentine's acting skills. Apart from the fans, Andrés Parra, who plays one of the agents in Los Protectores, heaped praise on Messi and said, "It has really surprised us all, not only his human quality but also his acting."
