Ja Morant's Memphis Grizzlies finished the NBA preseason with a victory against Detroit Pistons on Friday as the 23-year-old point guard trumped the scoring charts in the dominant 111-126 victory at the Little Caesars Arena. This was the third win in five games for the Tennessee-based NBA franchise.

The NBA regular season starts from October 18 while the Grizz will kick-start their campaign in a home game against New York Knicks on the next day.

During their last preseason game, Memphis Grizzlies displayed a tremendous performance by starting the game on a high note. Grizz managed a 14-point first quarter lead over Pistons as Ja Morant dropped 10 points and made one assist in the process. Morant led the scoring charts with 31 points in 25 minutes of his appearance and he also registered eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal to help his team overpower their opponents.

After leading the first half with seven points, Memphis Grrizzlies extended their lead in the final quarter of the game to 15 points. Apart from Morant, Dasmond Bane and Brandon Clarke dropped 16 points each and made three and two assists respectively.

On the other hand, Cade Cunnigham recorded the best performance for the Detroit Pistons with 15 points, six assists and six rebounds followed by Saddiq Bey (17 points, 8 rebounds) and Isaiah Stewart (16 points, 9 rebounds). Pistons have failed to win a single preseason game in their four outings and will face Orlando Magic on October 19 in their opening game of the NBA regular season 2022-23.
