Mumbai Indians (MI) are now on a run for their sixth IPL title after their dominant 59-run win over Delhi Capitals in match number 63 of IPL 2025 at Wankhede Stadium on May 21. With this win, MI now became the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs in the ongoing season. Among all these, these was also MI’s last game of the season and they ended in with a win.

After the match, all the players from MI showed special gesture and thanked the Wankhede crowd for showering their support throughout the season. The players were seen holding a big placard with ‘Thank you Mumbai” written on it. MI are yet to play a game in the league stage as they will take on Punjab Kings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 26.

I can throw the ball to Bumrah or Santner whenever I want: Hardik Pandya

Talking about the match, MI posted a total 180 for the loss of five wickets with Suryakumar Yadav top scoring with 73*(43) runs. In reply, DC were bowled out for just 121 runs in 18.2 overs. Fast bowling duo off Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Santner ended up taking three wickets each. After the match, MI skipper Hardik Pandya heaped praise on Bumrah and Santner and said they both have played a crucial role in MI’s journey this season.

“I can throw the ball to them (Santner and Bumrah) whenever I want, they bring such control and perfection which makes my job very easy. We would've been very happy to get 160 but the way Naman and Surya finished it. Especially Naman, to come out and just hit on a difficult track was outstanding,” Pandya said at the post-match presentation.
