In the IPL 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 30 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, CSK posted a total of 190 runs in 19.2 overs. Sam Curran led the innings with a brilliant 88 off 47 balls, including nine fours and four sixes. However, Yuzvendra Chahal turned the game around with a remarkable four-wicket over, including a hat-trick, finishing with figures of 4 for 32 in his three overs.
A fan clip from the first innings of the match that has caught the attention of fans is of MS Dhoni delivering a moment of brilliance that electrified the Chepauk crowd. Coming in to bat during the 18th over, Dhoni faced Yuzvendra Chahal and, in a display of sheer power and timing, launched a one-handed six over long-on. The ball soared into the CSK dugout, where teammate Ravindra Jadeja caught it, adding a touch of camaraderie to the spectacle. Despite his brief stay at the crease, scoring 11 runs off 4 balls, including a four and this memorable six, Dhoni's contribution was one of the highlight of CSK's innings.

Talking about the first innings, CSK’s batting was almost propelled single-handedly by Sam Curran’s brilliant innings. Another impactful cameo from youngster Dewald Brevis saw him scoring 32 off 26 balls and helped CSK reach the 190 mark. With the home crowd behind the team and a tricky Chepauk pitch in the contest, it will be interesting to see whether the Punjab Kings can chase down this target and boost their playoffs chances.
