IPL’s very own El Classico Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finally went underway on Thursday at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Both MI & CSK are placed in bottom half off the points table with Mumbai Indians yet to open their winning account in 2022 season of Indian Premier League.

Winning the toss, CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja opted to bowl. With match happening in Mumbai, it was expected that Mumbai Indians will have more support inside the stadium. However, CSK’s support looks unmatchable with crowd chanting ‘Mahi..Mahi’

For Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan opened the innings while Mukesh Choudhary bowled the first over. On the second delivery of the over, Mukesh Choudhary bowled a fuller length delivery and Rohit Sharma tried to flick it between mid-wicket and mid-on fielder. However, Rohit Sharma failed to time the ball and smashed it straight into the hands-on mid-on fielder.

Unfortunately for Mumbai Indians, the worry didn’t end there as Mukesh Choudhary sent Ishan Kishan back to the pavilion with a beautiful in-swinging yorker. With this, both the openers went back without troubling the scorers. On the other hand, Mukesh Choudhary completed his first over with 2 wickets for just 6 runs.
