Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios knocked out World No 1 Daniil Medvedev in the fourth round of the US Open 2022 on Sunday. During the third set, 27-year-old Kyrgios managed a bizarre foul that cost him a point, which was initially going in his favour.
After winning the first set in a tiebreak game, Kyrgios lost the second set to Medvedev. However, the Aussie bounced back in the match and claimed two consecutive sets to win the match. During the second game-point of the third set, Kyrgios pulled off a stunning return to Medvedev's drop shot.
The Russian tennis star failed to control the shot and while the ball was travelling out of the boundaries, Kyrgios entered Medvedev's side and smashed the ball to get a point, however, the chair umpire awarded the point to Medvedev as Kyrgios played a fouled shot.

Kyrgios beat Medvedev 7-6 (13-11), 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the quarter-final stage in the last grand slam of the year. The Australian is set to face Karen Khachanov of Russia in the quarter-final stage at the Flushing Meadows on September 6.
