Novak Djokovic defeated Casper Ruud 7-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the final to win his third French Open title and his record 23rd Grand Slam. He went past Rafael Nadal and now has the most Grand Slam titles in the Open Era. NFL and American football legend Tom Brady was in attendance, sitting next to Djokovic’s wife and the French Open champion went up and celebrated with his wife and Brady after the game.
The Serbian entered the crowd and celebrated with his wife and family, he then shook hands with Brady and hugged him before acknowledging the crowd. The two have a friendship that dates back to years, as Djokovic revealed in 2021 that he seeks advice from the seven-time Super Bowl champion, who retired in February after 20 seasons with the Patriots and three with the Buccaneers. According to tennis insider Ben Rothenberg, Tom Brady’s presence may have motivated Djokovic to play on for some more time.
