What a thriller! Zimbabwe stunned Pakistan in Group 2 match as the side registered a 1-run win over Men in Green. Batting first, Zimbabwe suffered a stunning collapse as they were reduced from 93/3 to 93/7 in space of 6 balls. However, the side managed to post 130 on board. While the score looked easy to chase, Pakistan made it tough for themselves as they lost both openers in the powerplay.
Needing 11 runs from final over, batters Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Waseem scored 7 in first 2 balls and brought down the equation to 4 off 4 balls. However, Brad Evans bowled a dot ball and then took the wicket of Nawaz to turn the game in Zimbabwe. Needing 3 on the final ball, Shaheen Afridi failed to hit it big and got run-out while scoring the second, giving Zimbabwe a 1-run win.
