Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer had a brain fade moment at the toss ahead of the 31st match of IPL 2025 against his ex-team Kolkata Knight Riders at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh. After winning the toss, Iyer confirmed that his team will bat first against KKR. However, when asked about the team combination, Iyer couldn’t remember the playing XI for the match and said that he will provide it later.

“We are going to bat first. Feel the wicket has been really well for the last couple of matches, the dew comes in but the outfield doesn't skid through. Don't remember the team changes, I will tell later. We need to take as many catches in the fielding and create some sort of brilliance,” Shreyas Iyer said at the toss.

Anrich Nortje makes KKR debut; Moeen Ali sits out against PBKS

Talking about the match, Kolkata Knight Riders have made one change in their playing XI as Moeen Ali has been for the ongoing clash against Punjab Kings. In his place, South African pacer Anrich Nortje finally got a chance to make his debut for KKR, playing his first game of IPL 2025. “Just one change. Nortje comes in for Moeen Ali. He has been working hard on his game and I am really looking forward to see him bowl tonight,” KKR skipper Ajnkya Rahane said at the toss.
