Argentine tennis player Pedro Cachin celebrated his first ATP career title with his puppy in Gstaad, Switzerland, on July 23, Sunday. After achieving the monumental victory at the Swiss Open, the 28-year-old, who was quite emotional, shared hugs with his girlfriend and sister first, before his French bulldog “Tango,” named after Argentina dance form, gave him exuberant licks and smooches on the face.

In Sunday’s final, Pedro Cachin was able to defeat Albert Ramos-Vinolas, the Spanish veteran with a score line of 3-6, 6-0, 7-5. Known as the clay-court specialist, the Argentine had already won six career titles in the tier two of the Challenger tour, before winning the ATP Swiss Open on his most favoured surface.

The championship win in Gstaad, Switzerland will put Pedro Cachin within range of 54th place on the ATP rankings, which was his career-best performance, achieved last year. He breached the top 100 barrier in 2022, after being plagued by neck injuries for the majority of his professional tennis career.

Notably, after sharing the joys of success with his girlfriend, sister, and puppy, who were sitting in his family section during the Swiss Open final, Pedro Cachin thanked them all during his trophy acceptance speech. He also said, “They are coming from Barcelona yesterday (Saturday) night, so it was a long drive but it was an unbelievable drive.”
