Denmark star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg pushed the referee over in the clash against Switzerland. The incident occurred after Hojberg was frustrated with the official Allard Lindhout blocking his path when he moved towards the ball. The Denmark midfielder went on to shove Lindhout, and the video of the incident has spread like wildfire all over the incident. Denmark and Switzerland ended the night in a goalless draw, while Hojbjerg did not receive any punishment for the incident.

During the match, the ball fell loose on the edge of Denmark’s penalty area, and while Pierre ran towards the ball to pick it up and carry it away, the on-field referee was seen blocking his path. Instead of passing beside the official, the footballer pushed him to the ground to pick up the ball and drive away. Hojbjerg played 84 minutes in the game, while Brentford’s star Mathias Jensen featured as a substitute.

The match saw Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer suffering a horrific ankle injury, which propelled him to walk out of the game awkwardly. After medical scans, when it was decided that the Inter footballer wouldn’t be able to continue, Vyon Mvogo came in as a substitute in the 37th minute. Talking about Hojbjerg, he has played 27 games for Tottenham in the Premier League so far in the season.

While there were reports of him moving to other clubs, Hojbjerg and his lawyer confirmed that he would continue to play with the side for his place. The 28-year-old earlier said, “I definitely feel I can help the team. Again, I showed that I'm ready and of course like everyone I want to start every game. There's no secret in that. We're all ambitious but I think the important thing is to stay ambitious on behalf of the team. This is the main thing that we can all keep our ambitions from the team's perspective. We all have to perform for the team.”
