WATCH: Piyush Chawla injures himself while saving a shot off his own bowling; walks out of the field

Piyush Chawla finished his spell with figures of 2/25.

Chennai Super Kings are locking horns with Mumbai Indians in match 49 of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. After being invited to bat first, the five-time champions posted 139/8 in their 20 overs, courtesy Nehal Wadhera’s knock of 51-ball 64 in the middle. However, the CSK opening pair of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway started with the bang before the Indian batter was sent packing at the score of 30.

 

With all going well in the CSK lineup, the side posted 88/2 in their 11 overs. However, just on the last ball of the 11 th  over, MI spinner Piyush Chawla sustained a minor finger injury. As Chawla tried to stop a shot off his own bowling, he sustained an injury on his right-hand  finger, ending his spell with 4-0-25-2.

However, he did talk to the umpire to call for a substitute, he later walked off the field talking to the umpire outside the boundary.

As of after ten matches, CSK stand at the third place with 11 points, while MI sit at the sixth place after nine matches with ten points.
