Gujarat Police’s Crime Branch arrested the Pro-Palestine supporter who invaded the ODI World Cup 2023 final. India locked horns with Australia in the summit clash of the 2023 World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. During India’s innings, a Pro-Palestine supporter invaded the pitch, carrying a pride flag.
The invader’s t-shirt had Palestine-related slogans, ‘stop bombing Palestine’ written on one side and ‘free Palestine’ on the other. The flag in his hand has been reported by some news organisations as a Palestine flag. The invader was in the mask, and he went on to embrace star batsman Virat Kohli, who was batting with K.L Rahul during the 14th over of the Indian innings. The incident took place on the 14th over the match and was led away by security personnel.

He was carried away and was brought to the Chandkheda Police Station in Ahmedabad for further questioning. Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma and Co. were invited to bat first, and while they were hoping for a favourable inning, the hosts could only manage to post a 240-run total on the scoreboard.
However, the two-time champions made a solid comeback in the game and proved to be absolutely fatal with their bowling performance. The hosts got some early successes in the likes of David Warner, Mitchell Marsh and Steven Smith.
