It turned out to be a historic moment for head coach Luis Enrique as his club Paris Saint-Germain went on to win their first-ever UEFA Champions League title after thrashing Inter Milan by 5-0 in the final. With this Enrique also completed his historic treble and became the second coach in history to win three different championships with a club in a single season twice. He previously did this with Barcelona in 2015.

After the win, Luis Enrique aso took a moment to honour his late daughter Xana. The PSG manager remembered her daughter on the special occasion and was also seen with a specially crafted T-shirt featuring an illustration of himself and Xana holding a PSG flag together. The PSG fans from the stands also gave a special tribute to his daughter holding a big painting where Enrique hoists the PSG flag with his daughter alongside him. Notably, Xana was nine years old when she passed away due to osteosarcoma (a rare form of bone cancer) in 2019.

“It means a lot. It’s so nice. But I don’t need to win the Champions League to remember my daughter. My daughter is always with us, especially when we lost. With my family, we try to enjoy everything and find positives, even in the bad moments,” Luis Enrique said on her late daughter.

It turned out to be a memorable season for Paris Saint-Germain as they went on to win three tittle in a single year under manager Luis Enrique. In the 2024-25, they first won a Ligue 1,, followed by Coupe de France and now the UEFA Champions League. After the win, Enrique acknowledged that PSG have finally able to tick the final box after winning the UCL title.

“On my first day at the PSG campus, my French was even worse than it is today. But I said the ultimate goal for me as a coach was to fill the trophy cabinet. The only trophy missing was Champions League. And we’ve ticked that box. We were ambitious, and we did it,” Enrique was quoted as saying by Sportstar.
