The latest episode of WWE SmackDown, held at Nutter Center in Dayton, saw R-Truth, arguably the most hilarious superstar in the promotion, raising the “Let’s Go Cena!” sign in the backstage area on Friday, May 9. He was cheering for his childhood hero on top of his lungs just a night prior to John Cena being set to defend his WWE Championship against Randy Orton at the Backlash PLE in St. Louis.

When Jimmy Uso made his way into the backstage area, R-Truth let him know that John Cena had arrived in the building for SmackDown tonight while holding the “Let’s Go Cena!” sign. It led to Uso telling him on his face that “Cena Sucks!,” which Truth didn’t take too kindly to before responding that his childhood hero talks about never giving up, but he is new to it.

Randy Orton laid out WWE Champion John Cena just one night before their championship bout at Backlash PLE

Afterwards, in the main event segment on SmackDown, just a night away from Backlash PLE, John Cena, the WWE Champion, addressed his challenger Randy Orton, making some scathing remarks about his character. Cena called him a liar before stating that Randy Orton will kill the legend of Randy Orton after their championship bout in St. Louis in just about 24 hours.

In his concluding remark, John Cena called himself the last real champion of the WWE before he basked in the glory of lifting the championship belt above his shoulders. After that, a masked man slid into the ring and went for an RKO on him, but he got an AA in response after John Cena managed to reverse the finishing move.

But then, Randy Orton appeared in the ring, mocked the five-knuckle shuffle move of John Cena before delivering a devastating RKO to the champion.
