During last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, John Cena and R-Truth were involved in a backstage segment after the Leader of Cenation turned face in his ongoing farewell tour 2025. In their hilarious interaction, which saw both of them hug each other, John Cena smartly gaslighted R-Truth into believing that he was one who had turned heel over the past five months, running roughshod in WWE.

Whether or not R-Truth aka Ron Killings really believes that he was the heel all this while, he appeared in a backstage interview on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown at the TD Garden in Boston. When interviewer Bryon Saxton asked him about the “literal attitude adjustment” of John Cena to R-Truth, who responded by saying, “I feel good” before telling everyone that they have got their childhood hero back.

Moments later, Aleister Black, who has been embroiled in a battle with R-Truth this summer, walked into the picture just weeks after losing to him on SmackDown with a roll-up pin. Black asks Truth if he were this excited about his other friend Damian Priest before telling him that there isn’t a need for enemies with friends like him, to which Truth gets into his face.

R-Truth tells Alester Black, “How are you going to tell me who I am”, to which Black says that they are going to go one-on-one on next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

Drew McIntyre revels in misery of Cody Rhodes after attacking him last week on SmackDown

In one of the key segments on the blue brand this week, Drew McIntyre, who had attacked WWE Champion Cody Rhodes last week, told everyone that it was actually Rhodes who attacked him just seven days ago. While the status of the American Nightmare is currently unknown, McIntyre reveled in the misery of him, talking about how he is going to be the real nightmare for anyone who provokes him, just like how Rhodes did in his eyes last week.

It is likely that if Cody Rhodes is cleared to compete this month, then he will take on Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at Clash in Paris Premium Live Event (PLE).
