On Saturday, May 24, John Cena had a match against R-Truth, who calls him his childhood hero, at the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME) at the Yuengling Center in Tampa. After John Cena made his way inside the ring, R-Truth arrived at the arena with “Ron Cena” entrance and gear, in his attempt to taunt the WWE Champion, and it seemingly got under the skin of the Leader of Cenation, who was itching to get it on.

In the build-up to the high stakes match at WWE SNME, R-Truth had promised to beat “Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect” into John Cena, to ensure that he doesn’t end up ruining wrestling. After the entrances were done, the business picked up quite considerably with Cena taking the attack to Truth right out of the gates, which shocked the latter, but he quickly managed to get into the contest.

R-Truth got himself a flurry with a couple of shoulder blocks on John Cena before hitting the fall-forward Blue Thunder Drive, followed by the “You Can’t See Me” chant into the Five Knuckle Shuffle and the Attitude Adjustment, but the champion survived the pinfall. After getting out of the STF, Cena brought the title belt into the contest before Truth caught him and said, “What’s going on with you man,” which led to the champion giving the title belt to the referee.

When the referee was distracted, John Cena hit a low blow on R-Truth before delivering an Attitude Adjustment to defeat him. After the completion of the match, Cena was far from finished as he took out Truth with the title belt in a despicable action, which was met with a chorus of boos from the fans at the Yuengling Center in Tampa.
