The ongoing 2nd T20I between India and Sri Lanka on Wednesday has been nothing short of amazing action in Colombo. Although the wicket at R. Premadasa Stadium has been quite a slow and sluggish one making batting extremely difficult, the fans have still been able to witness some good quality cricket. From Shikhar Dhawan's batting to Akila Dananjaya's bowling, the first half produced some exciting action for the viewers.

With a target of 133 runs, only an early fall of wicket could have made things tricky for the home side. And this is exactly what happened in the 3rd over of the innings. However, it was neither a brilliance in bowling nor a mistake in batting which got the crucial breakthrough. Instead, it was all about magic on the field by 21-year-old Rahul Chahar.

Moment of brilliance by Rahul Chahar

After a slightly slow start by Sri Lanka, a big shot was on the cards from either of the two openers. As Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a delivery down the leg side, Avishka Fernando wanted to seize the opportunity to score an easy boundary. However, the right-handed batsman did not find the perfect connection as he would have wanted on his flick as the ball went high up in the air behind square.

Rahul Chahar, who was standing at the boundary line, judged the trajectory of the ball and ran towards deep backward square leg. The 21-year-old caught the ball brilliantly but his momentum was taking him over the boundary line. He showed tremendous composure to throw the ball up in the air before crossing the ropes and showed quick reflexes to return inside the playing area to complete a terrific catch.

The moment of brilliance on the field by Rahul Chahar gave India the crucial breakthrough that they were looking for. As Avishka Fernando was dismissed on 11, Sri Lanka found themselves in a bit of bother with the score reading 12/1 in 2.4 overs. Considering the slowness of the wicket and the lack of experience in the Sri Lankan batting line-up, this magical catch by Chahar certainly opened up the match for a nail-biting finish in Colombo.
