In a heartwarming and unexpected moment during the IPL 2025 match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur on April 28, RR head coach Rahul Dravid, who had been attending matches in a wheelchair due to a leg injury, was seen leaping up in celebration after 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a blistering 35-ball century. This spontaneous reaction from the usually reserved Dravid quickly went viral, capturing the joy and excitement of the historic achievement.

Suryavanshi's innings was nothing short of sensational. He scored 101 runs off just 38 balls, including 11 sixes and seven fours, leading RR to an eight-wicket victory over GT. His century is now the second-fastest in IPL history and makes him the youngest centurion in men's T20 cricket. Earlier, Dravid had expressed confidence in Suryavanshi's potential, stating that RR would provide a supportive environment for his development. This moment serves as a testament to that commitment and the bright future that lies ahead for the young cricketer.

RR secures commanding 8-wicket victory over GT

Talking about the match, Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a commanding 8-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans (GT). Chasing a formidable target of 210, RR achieved the win with 25 balls to spare, thanks to a record-breaking century by 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. For the unversed, RR won the toss and chose to field first. GT got off to a good start with the opening pair creating a 93-run partnership for the first wicket. Jos Butler added another quick-fire 50* off 26 balls as the visitors were able to put 209 on the scoreboard.

RR came out to bat with the roar of the home-crowd behind them, and they delivered a spectacular performance today. A mammoth 166-run opening partnership from Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal, saw RR kill the game in the first 12 overs itself. Even after getting two wickets which only served as consolation for GT, skipper Riyan Parag finished the job for his team scoring 32* of 15 balls and help chase down the target in just 15.5 overs.
