The much-awaited moment in Indian cricket saw batting stalwart and former India skipper Virat Kohli return to the pavilion, scoring six off 15 balls. Returning to domestic cricket after 12 long years, Virat Kohli had a forgettable day in the middle at the Arun Jaitley Stadium as he was clean bowled by Railways bowler Himanshu Sangwan, early on Day 2 of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 fixture.

After the dismissal of Yash Dhull, Virat Kohli finally took the crease, alongside Sanat Sangwan. While he got some middles along with smoking a straight drive for a boundary off Himanshu Sangwan’s over, he was castled on the very next delivery. Sangwan, who was building pressure with his brilliant line and length deliveries, fired a short ball that forced Kohli to leave a massive gap between his bat and pad.

As the ball jagged through the gate, sending the off-stump flying, Virat Kohli’s stay was short lived, where he could only score six off 15 deliveries with his innings laced with one boundary. Moreover, Kohli’s departure left Delhi reeling at 86/3 during their chase of 242 runs.

Furthermore, the crowd which once roared as Kohli walked out to bat, was left in disbelief.
