After Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans posted 227/2 in their 20 overs after being invited to bat first, the Lucknow Super Giants also kick started their innings with a bang as Kyle Mayers and Quinton de Kock stitched 88-run opening partnership at the Narendra Modi Stadium. How this partnership could not reach the 100-run mark as a brilliant effort from Rashid Khan send Kyle Mayers back to the pavilion.

Hardik Pandya introduced Mohit Sharma in the ninth over of the LSG innings and on the second delivery of this over, Sharma bowled a slower short ball. Mayers who was on strike at this moment got a slight edge which sent the ball towards deep square leg. Rashid Khan who was stationed near the boundary rope took a sprint and dived to complete a stunner.

Mayers was dismissed at the score of 48, missing a half-century by just two runs. It is to be noted that Quinton de Kock replaced injured KL Rahul, who has been ruled out of the ongoing edition with a hamstring injury.
