Just hours before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final, set to begin on Tuesday evening, June 3, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans have taken over the entrance gates to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, in anticipation of a big night for the franchise. Their team is set to play in the summit clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS), and the winner will lift the coveted trophy for the first-time in their illustrious history after a long wait of 17 years.
It was just last week when RCB made the final of the IPL 2025 after defeating PBKS in the Qualifier 1 by eight wickets with 10 overs to spare in pursuit of the 102-run target at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. Earlier in the group stage of the tournament, RCB and PBKS also traded a win against each other away from home in Mullanpur and Bengaluru respectively, which is why it is quite hard to call where the final might go later tonight.
As far as PBKS are concerned, they got the better of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Qualifier last Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad by five wickets in chase in excess of 200 runs, to make the final of the IPL 2025. While PBKS might not have the fan following quite as big as RCB, they are still quite a loud bunch, which was on full display especially after taking down the five-time champions in the Qualifier 2 just a couple of days ago.
IPL 2025 final will be story of ulimate ecstasy to utter despair
The finals are known to be a story of ultimate ecstasy on the one side to utter despair on the other side, and it will be the case once again with RCB and PBKS fans after the final of the IPL 2025 season. With that, the big question on the lips of everyone is about which team will lift the IPL trophy at the end of the night, to end their title drought, leaving the other team to lick their wounds and start again next season.
Moreover, as far as the team news is concerned, RCB have welcomed back Phil Salt to the group, who returned from England after seeing the birth of his first child.
