Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh opened up on how he prepares himself to bat in the lower-order and also received MS Dhoni’s advice on this role. The left-hander didn’t have a great outing in IPL 2025 so far, where he could amass only 133 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 146.15. He is currently in action on the field in the ongoing IPL 2025 clash against Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Ahead of the ongoing clash, Rinku Singh mentioned about taking up role of a finisher for KKR and shared what advice he got from Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni to be calm and focus on his fitness. “I usually bat at No. 5 or 6 — I’ve done that for UP and in the IPL, so I’m used to it. I focus a lot on fitness because with 14 matches in the IPL, it’s my responsibility to maintain my body and recover well. I also speak to Mahi Bhai often — he tells me to stay calm and play according to the match situation. Things fall into place when you stay composed,” Rinku said in a conversation with Star Sports.
