The 2nd match of the Indian Premier League 2022 is underway between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at Brabourne Stadium. Both teams have tried their best to put up a strong squad amid unavailability of some of their key players.

The Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won the toss, and chose to field, terming the surface to remain the same throughout the duration of the match, as he has experienced in domestic matches.

On being asked to bat first, the experienced openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan provided a great start to the Mumbai Indians team in the power-play overs. The captain, Rohit Sharma hit the first boundary & first six for Mumbai Indians team in the very first over.

Watch the video here:

Rohit made full use of the loose delivery by Shardul Thakur to open his account. It was a delightful lofted shot over the long off on the final ball to make it 10 runs off the 1st over.

The Mumbai Indians team crossed the score of 50 runs in the power-play overs. But, Rohit was dismissed by spinner Kuldeep Yadav in the 8th over after scoring 41 off 32 balls.

The outfield at Brabourne Stadium is lightning quick and has smaller dimensions. A big score is needed by the team batting first to seal the game. The venue has hosted 4 IPL games, and all the matches have seen scores of 170+ being posted. With the firepower of Tim David, Kieron Pollard, and Daniel Sams, the Mumbai Indians will back themselves to go past 180 and put pressure on the opposition.
