The fourth Test between India and England has absolutely turned upside down on Day 3 at the Oval. With the visitors trying to pave their way back into the contest after conceding a huge 99-run lead in the first innings, they lost the wicket of KL Rahul in first session on Saturday putting the pressure back on the Indian side. However, Rohit Sharma was absolutely unperturbed as he kept on playing his shots at the other end. The Indian opener was joined by Cheteshwar Pujara and the duo started to script a heroic comeback.
Rohit played some mesmerizing shots and eventually went on complete his 8th Test ton which was notably his maiden overseas century in the longest format of the game. Going into the tea break, the 34-year-old was unbeaten on 103* off 218 deliveries as India led by 100 runs with 9 wickets remaining. While Hitman smashed 12 boundaries during his knock, his solitary six came at the perfect moment.

The Indian opener has come close to scoring his first-ever overseas ton on quite a few occasions in last 12 months but has failed to reach the magic figure. With his side in a spot of bother, Hitman looked absolutely determined to complete his century on Saturday.
After reaching the nervous nineties, there was genuine tension among the fans. However, Rohit proved that he has nerves of steel as he stepped out off the bowling of Moeen Ali and smoked the ball into the stands over the long-on boundary.
Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri and others were on their feet in the balcony as they applauded the heroic knock of Rohit Sharma. It seemed like the Oval had erupted with joy as the Indian fans cheered and clapped for Hitman's maiden overseas Test century.

Sehwag, Laxman and DK praise Rohit Sharma
As expected, cricket experts and fans went berserk on social media as there were praises for Hitman from everywhere. While Virender Sehwag hailed the knock as 'Shaandar Zabardast Zindabad', VVS Laxman opined that it could be a series-defining innings from the Indian opener.
