On Sunday, January 19, the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai celebrated its 50th anniversary. While this was a grand feat for the Mumbai Cricket Association, it also got together several former as well as active players, including the likes of legends Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma. In one of the instances, Team India’s ODI and Test skipper Rohit Sharma’s gesture hogged limelight.
The 37-year-old joined the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri and Ajinkya Rahane on the stage, along with the hosts of the evening in Mandira Bedi and Jatin Sapru. As each of the one took a seat on the stage, former India cricketer and head coach Ravi Shastri grabbed the corner seat, which did not seem to rest well for the current skipper.
