On Sunday, March 9, Rohit Sharma-led Team India etched history as they became the first team to lift three ICC Champions Trophy titles. Coming into the final on the back of a four-match winning streak, India went onto beat New Zealand by four wickets in the summit clash at DICS in Dubai and lift their seventh ICC title.
For the unversed, New Zealand had won the toss and elected to bat first. In the scorching Dubai heat, the Kiwis posted 251 runs on the board, courtesy a fighting knock from Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell. However, the Men in Blue had other plans as they went onto chase the target with an over to spare and four wickets remaining.

Skipper Rohit Sharma played a crucial knock of 76 runs, Shreyas Iyer (48) also proved crucial. Wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul (34* off 33) and Ravindra Jadeja (9* off 6) added the final touches as they helped India cross the line. With a four from Jadeja’s bat when India needed two runs, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli along with other members of the Indian cricket team ran into celebrate this moment.
Moreover, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were seen playing dandiya with the stumps, video of which is going viral on social media. Earlier, Virat Kohli roared inside the ressing room once India sealed the contest. Although, he hugged assitant coach Abhishek Nayar, he then moved to Gambhir, hugging him and making his happiness known.
After hitting the winning runs, the entire Indian camp charged out, Ravindra Jadeja was joined by Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh in the middle where they were seen performing the gangnam style dance.
