In the build-up to the first home match for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024, Rohit Sharma had a hilarious meet-up with former cricketers Harbhajan Singh, Navjot Singh Sidhu, and Mohammad Kaif, along with the sports presenter Jatin Sapru at the Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai Indians are currently playing against Rajasthan Royals, who are undefeated in the ongoing IPL season.
Rohit Sharma, who has captained Mumbai Indians in the IPL for a decade, bringing them five IPL trophies in the process, is not at the helm of the team anymore. He is being replaced in the leadership role by Hardik Pandya, who had returned to MI after taking GT to two consecutive finals in the IPL during the last two seasons.
A video of Rohit Sharma went viral on Monday, April 1, before Mumbai Indians took on Rajasthan Royals, wherein he was spotted lifting Harbhajan Singh before they both burst into laughter. Moments later, he had a side hug with Mohammad Kaif and Jatin Sapru before shaking hands with Navjot Singh Sindhu.
In the first couple of matches in their IPL 2024 campaign, Mumbai Indians have suffered two consecutive losses at the hands of Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad away from home. With that, the team needs to put up a better showing in front of their home fans at the Wankhede Stadium against Rajasthan Royals, who won’t be an easy opponent by any stretch of the imagination.
