Rajasthan Royals batter Rovman Powell completed a spectacular catch to dismiss Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis in the IPL 2024 Eliminator. In this thrilling knockout game, Rajasthan won the toss and RCB to bat first, who were scoring quick runs despite a few hiccups.
The opening pair of Faf and Virat Kohli targetted every bowler barring Trent Boult as the Kiwi showed off his magic in the powerplay. Coming in for the fifth over, Boult conceded only three runs from his first three balls. Then on the fourth delivery, Faf du Plessis looked to hit the ball for a boundary.

As it was a shortish delivery, the South African great attempted a pull host but didn't connect well. RR had two fielders in the deep on the on-side. Here, Rovman Powell, positioned at deep mid-wicket, sprinted forward and completed a stunning dive forward to complete a crucial catch.
Focussing on your own skills, being true to the way you want to play: Faf
Ahead of the game, Faf du Plessis spoke about how he wants his players to focus on their skills, especially in knockout games. Speaking at the toss, Du Plessis said, "Would've done the same. Watching the game last night, there was assistance for the seam bowlers early on. This looks on the drier side with some fake grass on top. We've had that mindset right through."
"Focussing on your own skills, being true to the way you want to play. Last game against CSK was an unbelievable one. Less is more. People think when you get to the knockout stages, you need to be Superman. It's just showing the boys that you trust them. Same team," he continued.
