Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar presented a special jersey to Rohit Sharma ahead of the IPL 2024 clash between SunRisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians. The former Mumbai Indians captain is playing his 200th match for the franchise, and hence, before the onset of the clash, he was presented with the special jersey with the jersey number 200. Sharma is one of the most successful IPL captains, who led the Indians to their five trophies, along with scoring runs while leading the batting lineup.
Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, Sharma was relieved from his captaincy duties before Hardik Pandya took over the captaincy hat. As Mumbai Indians played their second game of the 17th edition of the tournament in Hyderabad, he was presented with a special jersey to mark the special occasion by the former MI player and cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar. Mumbai Indians win toss, opt to field first against Hyderabad
Talking about the IPL 2024 clash between Mumbai Indians and SunRisers Hyderabad, MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and invited the rivals to bat first. Speaking during the toss, Pandya said, “We were solid in the last game. Didn't plan properly, that cost us the game. 13 games to go, we need to keep doing the right things. We are positive and looking forward to the challenge. Just trying to spend time with all the players. Getting to know them better.”
Pat Cummins, the SRH captain spoke about the changes in the squad and said, “It's a tough tournament, the crowd and conditions will help. A couple of changes. Head comes in for Jansen. Natarajan has a niggle, Unadkat comes in. We got a great squad, the 11 or 12 players playing tonight got to give their everything.”
