Seasoned wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson is one of the best technically sound batters in Indian cricket. The 27-year-old batter has shown glimpses of the talented cricketer that he is but has failed to perform consistently enough to merit a long rope with the national team.

The Rajasthan Royals skipper was recently included in the three-match T20Is against England, but could not make the cut in the squad. However, Indian selectors still trusted the wicket-keeper batter and included him in the squad touring West Indies for three-match ODI series.

In a recent development, Sanju Samson was seen sweating out hard at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Wednesday ahead of the ODIs against West Indies. The wicketkeeper-batter shared his video on Instagram where he can be seen hitting the balls during the net sessions at the NCA.

Talking about Sanju Samson, he made his T20I debut in 2015 while his ODI debut came last year against Sri Lanka. This could be a great opportunity for the Rajasthan Royals captain to make a case for himself in the absence of some of the senior players with Shikhar Dhawan being named captain.

The India tour of the West Indies will kick off with the opening ODI to be played on July 22 at Queen's Park Oval, Trinidad. The same venue will host the next two ODIs on July 24 and 27. After the 50-over format, Trinidad's Brian Lara Stadium will host the opening T20I on July 29. The next two T20Is will be played in St. Kitts on July 31 and August 2, respectively. The action will move to Florida, USA for the last two T20Is to be played on August 6 and 7.
