Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson shared a humorous moment with his Mumbai Indians’ (MI) counterpart Hardik Pandya a day prior to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 contest between the two sides at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on May 1. Rajasthan, without their captain’s services, beat Gujarat Titans (GT) in their previous game played in Jaipur on April 28. Riding on Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 101 off just 38, RR hammered GT by eight wickets and bagged their third victory in the tournament. On the other side, Mumbai have also looked extraordinary recently and won their last five games.
Before competing on the field on May 1, the captains of both sides were seen in a vivacious mood. In a video posted by RR on Instagram, Sanju can be seen wearing Hardik’s gloves and saying, “Diamond laga hua hai pehli baar dekh raha hu yaar, diamond! Nahi yaar!” Listening to Samson, Hardik also couldn’t hold himself and laughed out loud. Noting the conversation between Samson and Hardik, RR vice-captain Riyan Parag also smiled and remarked, “Lo yeh ho gaya viral.” In several instances, Hardik has been seen wearing his expensive diamond bracelet. Taking dig at MI captain, Sanju created a humorous moment. Captioning the clip, RR wrote, "Heere ki parakh toh ek Samson hi kar sakta hai."
Sanju Samson might not show up against MI in Jaipur in IPL 2025 clash
Sanju, who has been suffering from a side strain, might not participate in the game against Mumbai at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on May 1. Before the big game, RR head coach Rahul Dravid said the 30-year-old is recovering from his injury but the RR team management is still patient about his participation in the game.
“Sanju is recovering well but we just have to take it day-by-day. It's a side-strain and sometimes these side strains can be a bit tricky and we don't want to harm him in the long run,” said RR head coach Dravid while replying to a query from PTI.
