As the inaugural edition of Major League Cricket is underway in the United States, it has been fairly successful as most of the games have seen a sold out crowd in the stadium and the match between Texas Super Kings and Seattle Orcas was no exception.

The match was a one-sided affair, as TSK were put into bat first by Wayne Parnell, the Seattle Orcas captain. TSK struggled throughout their innings and barely managed to put up a total 127 runs on the board due to an unbelievable spell of fast bowling by Wayne Parnell. In response, the Seattle Orcas chased the target in just 16 overs, as the Protean keeping duo of Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen scored 53(36) and 42(21) respectively.

In one such incident, as fans waited outside to meet their favourites, Texas Super Kings’ captain Faf du Plessis was denied by the security officials. As Faf du Plessis was returning to the dressing room, he spotted fans and tried to walk towards them, but he was stopped by the security who obstructed him from going towards the fans as it was a security risk.

But the ex-South African skipper simply said that he didn’t care and proceeded towards the fans irrespective of the guard’s advice. The fans were overjoyed by this gesture and immediately started asking the 39-year-old for autographs and photos.

The Texas Super Kings are yet to qualify for the playoffs as they have won two and lost two matches. West Indian veteran Dwayne Bravo and Mohammad Mohsin are the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker for TSK respectively. A win for TSK in their last league match against the Unicorns will ensure a playoff spot.
