The press conference for the Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez bout could have turned into a brawl before the security stepped in to hold back both fighters. Battling at the Madison Square Garden, with the WBO and The Ring super lightweight titles both Taylor and Lopez were set precedence before they officially exchange blows.
Hence during the press conference, Josh Taylor expressed he will be making the ‘clown' Teofimo Lopez pay for his ‘disrespectful’ comments. This exchange led to both fighters frantically going at each other when the security guards stepped in and managed to quickly diffuse the situation and hold away the fighter.

Coming back to the press conference before things took a turn, Josh Taylor expressed that he truly dislikes Teofimo Lopez. He also stated that he will register an early knockout and win comfortably. "There is genuine dislike here, he's been disrespectful, so a lot of words he's said I'm going to make him pay for on Saturday," Taylor said. “You'll see a Josh Taylor win, possibly by KO nice and early as well.”
Further talking about the billing, Josh Taylor spoke about how fighting at the Maddison Square Garden is like a dream come true. He said, "For me, this is a dream come true. Starting out as a professional or even as a young kid you always dream of coming over Stateside and fighting in venues like this. This is the mecca of boxing Madison Square Garden. Fighting in a place like this, topping the bill and bringing over the Tartan Army. I can't wait to get in there and make another dream become a reality.
